• Taking Pictures with Stroboscopic Flash
When taking pictures with stroboscopic flash, it is necessary to set a
shutter speed that will keep the shutter open long enough for all of the
flash bursts to be completed.
"I Set the camera to manual
exposure mode (M) and set
the desired aperture value.
2 Set the shutter speed calculat
ed from the following formula:
Shutter speed =
No. of bursts -i- Firing frequency
For example, if the number of
bursts is set to 10 and the fir
ing frequency is set to 5 (Fiz),
10 5 = 2, so the shutter
speed should be set to a
speed of 2 seconds or longer.
To make sure all of the flash
bursts are properly recorded, it
is a good idea to set a shutter
speed that is slightly longer
than the calculated speed. In
this case, for example, a shut
ter speed of 4 seconds would
be appropriate.
If the number of bursts is set to
-- (unlimited), the flash will
continuously fire until the shut
ter closes or until the flash
charge is depleted. However,
the maximum number of contin
uous flash bursts Is limited to
the number shown in the chart
on page 21
3 Focus the subject.
To determine the flash expo
sure, follow the manual flash
procedure on page 18
