Camera will not operate.
Power is not turned on. z Press the ON/OFF button (p. 13).
Memory card slot/battery
cover is open.
z Confirm that the memory card slot /
battery cover is securely closed (p. 9).
Batteries are loaded in the
wrong direction.
z Reload the batteries in the correct
direction (p. 8).
Batteries are not the right
type.
z Use only unused AA-size alkaline
batteries or Canon AA-size NiMH
batteries (p. 178).
Battery charge is low and
