Is the separation pad deformed, worn, or
soiled?
Is the separation roller deformed, worn, or
soiled?
Replace the separation pad.
Push up the separation pad,
and replace the spring.
Replace the separation roller.
Replace the spring used to pull
the separation roller.

Turn off the power while copy paper is
moving through the feeding assembly. Is the
paper wrinkled? Or, is the paper askew?
Try copy paper fresh out of package. Is the
problem corrected?
Is the paper of a type recommended by
Canon?
Is the paper guide soiled with toner or the
like?
Is the height of the paper guide correct?
Is the lower roller (nip) as indicated?
Check the pick-up assembly.
Check the registration roller.
The copy paper may be moist.
Instruct the user on the correct
method of storing copy paper.
Advise the user to use
recommended paper.
Clean it.
Adjust the height of the paper
guide.
Adjust it
Try replacing the top unit or
the lower roller.
