Combined Use of Macro-Shooting and Zooming
Effect
In macro-shooting, the zooming ring is used for focusing. Focus by turning
the zooming ring in the macro range indicated by the yellow line. The
focused range moves between the nearest focal distance in macro-shooting
and the focused distance set beforehand with the focusing ring.
For instance, if you turn the zooming ring after setting the focusing ring at
3 meters (10 ft), the focused range moves from the nearest distance to 3m.
If the zooming ring is turned further, the macro-shooting mechanism is
released and the focal distance is set at 3m.
When zooming is continued, the subject at a distance of 3m is zoomed up
to. If the focusing ring is set at infinity, the focused range moves from
macro range to infinity and after the macro-shooting mechanism is released
at the focal distance of 7mm, you can change from macro-shooting to
zooming. With this method, you can change scenes from the closest subject
to others and zoom up on them, and it is effective in making clear the
relative positions of the subjects or in changing scenes. This technique adds
an outstanding effect to ordinary zooming.
