Using a Memory Card

3. Press the PHOTO button fully.

• F and focusing frame disappear and you hear a shutter sound.

• The card access indicator flashes and the card access display

appears.

• The still image shown on the screen will be recorded on the memory card.

❍ To use the self-timer ( 73), press the (self-timer) button before step 2

and press the PHOTO button fully.

❍ When the subject is too bright (overexposed), the ND filter turns on

automatically ("ND" appears on the screen). If it is still too bright, “OVEREXP”

starts flashing. In such case, use an optional ND filer. If you wish to turn off the

ND filter: Open the menu and select [CAMERA SET UP]. Select [ND], set it to

[OFF] and close the menu.

❍ ”OVEREXP” does not appear when you lock the exposure with the EXP dial.

❍ When the Focus-Priority mode is set to [ON]:

If the subject is not suitable for autofocus, the focusing frame turns yellow and

locks the focus. The confirmation sound beeps once. Adjust the focus manually

with the focus ring.

❍ When the focus-priority mode is set to [OFF]:

No focusing frame appears.

In step 2, F turns green, and focus and exposure are locked.

Recording Still Images on a Memory Card While Recording

Movies on a Tape

You can record still images on a memory card by pressing the PHOTO button while

you are recording a movie on the tape.

❍ The size of the still image will be 640 × 480.

❍ You can use the full zoom range (10× optical zoom and 40×/200× digital

zoom).

❍ The quality of the still image is slightly lower than a still image recorded in

CARD CAMERA mode.

❍ Card mix and 16:9 mode cannot be used when [PHOTO REC] is set to [CARD

❍ The still image cannot be recorded on a memory card when a fader, effect or

the multi-image screen is activated.

❍ The beep does not sound when you press the PHOTO button while recording a

movie on the tape.
