The World’s Largest Selection.
Canon offers the world's largest selection of autofocus lenses. Canon EF Lenses
are favorites of professional photographers and world-renowned for their optical
quality and endless versatility.
EOS Digital cameras accept
over 50 of these lenses,
from ultra wide-angle to
super telephoto, plus
fish-eye, macro and
tilt-shift lenses.
IMAGE STABILIZER
Canon’s Image Stabilizer (IS) technology makes
handheld photography possible in more low-
light situations than ever before. With IS lenses,
a special group of lens
elements automatically
shifts its position,
thereby compensating
for the shake and
stabilizing the image.
L-SERIES LENSES
Identifiable by a red ring around the outer
barrel, Canon’s L-series lenses are distinctive in
their performance through
use of optical technologies,
UD (Ultra-low Dispersion)
glass, Fluorite and
Aspherical elements and
Super Spectra Coating.
ULTRASONIC MOTORS (USM)
Canon developed the world’s first lens-based
Ultrasonic Motors (USM) that used ultrasonic
o
scillation energy. USM lenses are faster and
quiet
er th
an conventional motor driven autofocus
sy
stems and draw minimal power from the camera.
EF-S LENSES*
Designed for Canon EOS Digital cameras featuring
APS-C sized sensors with a 1.6x conversion
factor
*
, Canon’s EF-S Lenses take advantage of
the sensor’s smaller size, resulting in
compact, lightweight designs and
optimized performance without
compromise. The EF-S
18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
has an improved exterior
design and AF algorithm
to provide fast and
silent autofocusing.
DIFFRACTIVE OPTICS
Canon’s use of diffractive optics results in lenses
that are both high performance and more compact
than those with traditional refractive designs.
While conventional glass lenses’ elements disperse
incoming light, thereby causing chromatic
aberration, Canon’s unique multi-layer diffractive
elements work together with conventional glass
optics to cancel the effects of dispersion and
minimize or eliminate chromatic aberration.

performance is about moving forward
to meet the next challenge. Both Canon
and Maria Sharapova excel in raising
their game to the next level – turning a
challenge into an opportunity to shine.
Canon’s superior digital technology
not only smoothes the way to flawless
everyday performance, but gives you
the power to do things you never even
dreamed of, putting your creativity at
