-<Manual> for the connected telephone to ring for fax and voice calls. Fax calls must
be answered manually. (See "Receiving Faxes Manually: Manual Mode," on p. 5-7.)
NOTE
If you set <5. MAN/AUTO SWITCH> to <ON> in <FAX SETTINGS> of the Menu, the
machine will receive faxes automatically even when the receive mode is set to <Manual>.

Press [Stop/Reset] to return to the standby display.
NOTE
Yo u can save the toner consumption when printing out the received documents. (See
Chapter 10, "Machine Settings," in the Basic Guide.)
Receiving Faxes Automatically: FaxOnly Mode
If you want to select <FaxOnly>, check the following:
■ Select This Mode If:
• you have a dedicated telephone line for fax use only.
• you only want to receive faxes automatically with the machine.
■ You Will Need to:
set <FaxOnly>. (See "Setting the Receive Mode," on p. 5-1.)
■ When You Receive a Fax Call
The machine will receive the fax automatically.
■ When You Receive a Voice Call
You will not be able to answer the call.
NOTE
•
If you connect a telephone to the machine and enable the <INCOMING RING> setting,
the telephone will ring when the machine receives a voice call, and then you can answer
the call.
