45Paper Handling
Notes on Handling Print Media
Whenever possible, hold the paper by the edges and avoid touching the print
side. Any scratching or soiling on the print side will adversely affect the print
quality.
When storing your media, put the media back in its original packaging and
avoid locations that are exposed to direct sunlight or that are subject to high
temperatures or humidity. To avoid bending or wrinkling the paper, store it in
a level place.
After printing, do not touch the print side until the ink is dry. If water gets on the
printed medium, do not touch the print side until the medium dries.
The following are guidelines on how long ink takes to dry on individual print
media.
Artist Canvas About 15 minutes
Back Print Film About 15 minutes
Glossy Photo Cards About 2 minutes
Glossy Photo Paper About 2 minutes
High Gloss Photo Film About 10 minutes
Magnet Sheets About 30 minutes
Transparencies About 15 minutes
