Scanning from the [Scanner and Camera Wizard] dialog box (Windows XP only)
NOTE
To save more than one picture in the same location
Sequential numbers are automatically added to the end of the file names.
Scanning from the [Windows Fax and Scan] dialog box (Windows Vista/Windows 7 only)
NOTE
When scanning is complete
The scanned images are displayed within the [Windows Fax and Scan] folder.
File name and location where the scanned images are saved
Sequential numbers are automatically added to the end of the file names, and the files are saved in the [Scanned
Documents] folder within the [Document] folder. You can change the file name later.
Scanning from Windows Live Photo Gallery (Windows Photo Gallery) (Windows Vista/Windows 7 only)
NOTE
To save the scanned image without a tag
The scanned image is saved in a new folder bearing the scanning date within the [Pictures] folder.

Sequential numbers are automatically added. You can change the file name later.
Scanning from an application (Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 only)
IMPORTANT
When scanning using the WIA 1.0 driver started from within "Paint"
An error may occur when you do the following on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer:
1. Select [Flatbed] from [Paper source]
2. Click [Adjust the quality of the scanned picture]
3. Set [Resolution] to 600 dpi and click [OK]
4. Select [Document Feeder] from [Paper source]
5. Click [Scan] or click [Adjust the quality of the scanned picture] to change the resolution.
If this happens, select a setting other than [Custom Settings] before performing a scan or changing the scan resolution.

The displayed screen varies across the operating system, as well as the type and version of the scanner driver.
