Recording

Pressing will not start recording.

- You cannot record while the camcorder is writing previous recording onto the memory (while the ACCESS

indicator is on or flashing).

- The memory is full or it already contains 999 scenes (the maximum number of scenes). Delete some

recordings ( 38, 55) or initialize the memory ( 27) to free some space.

The point where was pressed does not match the beginning/end of the recording.

- There is a slight interval between pressing and the actual start of recording. This is not a

malfunction.

The camcorder will not focus.

- Autofocus does not work on the subject. Focus manually (

43).

- Lens is dirty. Clean the lens with a soft lens-cleaning cloth (

94). Never use tissue paper to clean the lens.

A vertical light bar appears on the screen.

- Bright light in a dark scene may cause a vertical light bar (smear) to appear. This is not a malfunction.

Changing the operating mode between recording ( )/record pause ( )/playback ( ) takes longer than

usual.

- When the memory contains a large number of scenes, some operations may take longer than usual. Back up

your recordings ( 66) and initialize the memory ( 27).

Reviewing the last scene recorded takes longer than usual.

- This may occur as movies and still images are recorded/deleted over time. Back up your recordings ( 66)

and initialize the memory ( 27).

Movies or still images cannot be recorded properly.

- This may occur as movies and still images are recorded/deleted over time. Back up your recordings ( 66)

and initialize the memory ( 27).

Playback

Cannot add scenes to the playlist.

- The playlist cannot contain more than 99 scenes or 100 hours of scenes.

- You may not be able to add scenes to the playlist if they were recorded or edited using another device.

Cannot delete a scene.

- You may not be able to delete scenes recorded or edited using another device.

Deleting scenes takes longer than usual.

- When the memory contains a large number of scenes, some operations may take longer than usual. Back up

your recordings ( 66) and initialize the memory ( 27).

Cannot erase a still image

- The still image is protected. Remove the protection ( 57).
