Cleaning The Bottom Plate
Cleans the inside of the machine. If the inside of the machine is dirty, paper you print onto may be
marked, so we recommend performing cleaning on a regular basis.
IMPORTANT
Do not perform another operation while the bottom plate is being cleaned.
Follow this procedure:
1 Ensure that there is no paper loaded in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
2 Prepare a sheet of A4- or letter-size plain paper. Fold it in half along the long
edge. Unfold the paper, then load it in the Auto Sheet Feeder with the outside
edge of the fold facing down.
3 Press [Menu] repeatedly until <3.MAINTENANCE> appears.
The displayed menu number differs according to the selected mode.
4 Use [ ] or [ ] to select <BOTTOM CLEANING>.
5 Press [OK].
The paper is fed and output.
If The Problem Remains After Cleaning With The Driver
Follow this procedure:
1 Turn OFF the power then disconnect the power cord.
2 Press the Open Button (1) to open the Paper Output Tray (2).
3 Raise the Scanning Unit until it stops.
Pull and hold the Scanning Unit Lever towardss you, then raise the Scanning Unit.
