Chapter 4 Copying 45
The following sections describe how to use these features.
Borderless Copying
This feature enables you to copy colour images so that they fill the entire page without borders.
You can use this feature only when the paper is set to <GLOSSY>, <HIGH RES.>, <PHOTO PRO>,
<PHOTO PLUS>, or <OTHER>. For details on setting the paper type, see page 25.
When using this feature, load the document on the Platen Glass.
You can only copy in colour with this feature.
The copied image may need to be enlarged to fit onto the selected paper size when making borderless copies.
Some cropping may occur.
When borderless copying is selected, the LCD will display the setting with the symbol “+,” such as <95%+>,
<100%+>, etc.
Follow this procedure:
1 Load the document on the Platen Glass.
2 Press [COPY].
3 Select the paper source with [Feed Switch].
For details on switching the paper source, see page 27.
4 Use [ ] or [ ] to select the number of copies, or enter the number using the
Numeric Keys (max. 99 copies).
For the maximum load limit for the paper you are using in the Auto Sheet Feeder or Cassette, see page 25.
5 Adjust the settings for your document as necessary.
You can use this feature only when the paper size is set to <A4>, <LTR>, <4"x6"> or <5"x7">.
You can use this feature only when the paper is set to <GLOSSY>, <HIGH RES.>, <PHOTO PRO>,
<PHOTO PLUS>, or <OTHER>. For details on setting the paper type, see page 25.
The image quality is fixed to <FINE (PHOTO)>. You cannot change this setting.
To select the scanning exposure, see page 38.
To select the copy ratio, see page 38.
You can select the width to be cropped from the borders of the original image. (See page 184)
Pressing [Black] does not start copying.
6 Press [Menu].
